An important Sevres, Manufacture Nationale de France ‘BLEU AGATE’ dessert plate from the “Service des Petites vues de France” with light blue rim decorated with gilt palmettes, the center painted with a landscape scene within a gilt Greek key border, labeled below.
Titled: “Lieu-dit le Pied de l’Aigle, dans la Forêt de Fontainebleau” that stands for “Place called the Foot of the Eagle, in the Forest of Fontainebleau”.
1st quality, excellent condition
Dated 1840 and fully marked to the bottom
Size: 24.5 cm
I purchased this plate from the Minneapolis Institute of Art and it has an inventory number.
