A rare Royal Vienna porcelain factory Porcelain Cup and a Saucer gilt with rich decoration by Anton Kothgasser.
Fully marked to the base, no signs of damage
The saucer is clearly signed 96 in black that is painter number for Anton Kothgasser. However, the cup has a different signature and it is pink. There is absolutely no doubt that both pieces are authentic Royal Vienna porcelain factory and the cup with saucer match each other decoration.
Manufactured in ca. 1800, Sorgenthal period
Condition: The cup and the saucer are both in excellent condition with no signs of damage. The top and bottom rims of the cup had significant gold wear and it was professionally restored by a KHM Wien museum porcelain restaurateur in Vienna. In the last two photographs, you can see the rim in its original condition.
Size:
Saucer: 13.5cm diameter
Cup: 6cm high, 6cm diameter and 8 wide from the handle to the rim.
